Overcoming Negativity in Your Environment
In a world that can often feel chaotic and overwhelming, maintaining a positive and uplifting environment is crucial for our overall well being. However, sometimes we aren’t quite in control of the people, energies, worries that fill our space. But what we do have is the powerful space of our own aura, and that makes a world of a difference. Today I am going to dive into some insights and practical strategies that can help you banish negativity from your surroundings and radiate a positive energy that uplifts not only yourself but those around you. Lets get into it :)
One of the greatest things I have ever learned is that energy is all around us. Energy greatly influences our thoughts, emotions, and overall well being. Negative energy can be like a dark cloud that lingers in our environment, affecting our mood and productivity but on the switch it could also be a bright light that guides us to not only feel the room but to be the change in a room.
Oftentimes negativity comes from toxic relationships or interactions. Focusing on the negativity coming from others will only cause it to manifest further into your life. This is when it is important to establish clear boundaries with people who drain your energy. Communicate your needs and, when necessary, limit your exposure to those who consistently bring you down.
In my experience I have learned that sometimes being a happy, positive person turns people off. SO LET IT! The easiest thing to do is to conform to the energy around you. If you are the only person who is smiling and finding the good, others will meet you where you are. Energy attracts like energy. Have confidence in all the positives your aura holds and train yourself to search for what fuels you.
I tend to search for what fuels me through mindfulness. By staying present in the moment, you can observe negative thoughts and emotions without judgment. This detachment empowers you to prevent negativity from taking control of your mindset and replacing it with small moments of positive thoughts. Regular mindfulness practices, such as taking a few breaths admiring the flowers on your desk, hearing the birds chirp outside of your window or seeing a glimmer of sunlight appear over your calendar, are moments to cherish.
Lastly, harness the power of affirmations. Positive affirmations are short, powerful statements that can rebuild your mindset. Create a list of affirmations that resonate with you and reflect the positivity you want to cultivate. Repeat these affirmations daily to reprogram your thought patterns and replace negativity with optimism. Here are some of my favorites:
I am a vessel of positivity.
I feel refreshed in my own presence.
I do all I can with what I have and that alone is a gift.
I love wholeheartedly.
I speak kindly to myself and those around me.
I see the precious moments of my days effortlessly.
I know I am a changing the lives of those around me.
If you read this whole thing, cultivating a positive aura and overcoming negative energy in your environment is already happening. Positivity is contagious, and it all begins with you.
